Hear ye, hear ye! Announcing a new literary journal!
Do you love the past? Do you think females are underrepresented? Do you love to write and to read? Then Herstory Literary Journal might just be the place for you.
What are we looking for?
Herstory Literary Journal seeks stellar writing in a number of genres and categories:
- Flash fiction
- Short fiction
- Novel excerpts
- Creative nonfiction essays
- Book reviews
What's in it for writers?
Personalized responses to every submission, for starters. Those responses are written by editor-in-chief and book coach, Margaret McNellis. Margaret has an MFA in fiction, an MA in English & creative writing, and an BA in art history.
All published writers will receive a token payment. The hope is to increase this in the future, but for right now, this is a passion project. Writers whose work is accepted in most genres/categories will also get at least one contributor copy.
Free, electronic submissions open year-round. Herstory Literary Journal won't charge you to share your work. We're not pay-to-play, not even to cover administrative costs. Because of this, we use Google Drive/Docs for submissions.
What's in it for readers?
Great stories, essays, poetry, and book reviews to help you fill your bookshelf. At present, the plan is to publish one issue of Herstory Literary Journal each year in both paperback and e-book format.
